I recently bought this book. The book has been organized into recipes and in each recipe the problem /situation where the feature is trying to address, the solution, description of the feature, When to use and when not to use and additional reading links and webcasts are mentioned. This makes it easier to read and understand. Also, the author has shared some of his real life experiences in terms of FAQs. However, please note that this book does not cover some of the more common features like pack, unpack etc. Also WLST commands coverage is very brief.
Very easy to read, full of very good information that no other book gives you about day in day out stuff. Most of the other books are good for reference but this one is really very different because it's like sitting next to a consultant and he likes you and is giving you his take on how you should do things.
I read the book cover to cover (first e-book which I read completely) thanks to the style it’s written. Short, concise, to the point, no non-sense approach which made it an interesting read. Though I have worked in JEE & OFM for very long, the lessons on JMX, CDN, JMS Server (in cluster), performance tuning, moving to cloud all were great refresher at times and completely new topics at times. I loved the diagrams in the book. This book is a must for all interested in OFM DevOps (more so with the cloud deployment in future).
Excellent publication, you known how do it applicationsthis is my recommendation for every architects of middleware, buy it now
If you want a book that gives you a complete overview of the platform then it is a good choice.Do not buy it if you already have two years working with WLS, the content should be considered intermediate. If you want an advanced level book is not an option.
Hi, i bought days ago this book and it is great, it simplify all about weblogic until now and give us lots of tips to make a simple administration of our application servers. Thanks Frank for this great book!
Book is OK . It is a compilation of recipes rather than a wholesome book on WebLogic Administration. There are not many books on WebLogic. I have not had a chance to read the entire book
The book is nothing but waste of papers. This is one of the worst book I have ever bought. The book have no structure, no concepts, ideas, or practical examples. Many chapters are not more than few pages long. Big bold fonts being used throughout the entire book, waste space on all most every page that show that there is nothing to talk about, the author trying to make the book thicker without adding professional contents on them. I don't know recommend this book to anybody.
