I am a sports medicine fellow. I was hoping this would be a useful for improving my physical diagnosis knowledge and skills. It really isn't great for this purpose. It has a lot of tables about sensitivity and specificity for given maneuvers, and not enough emphasis on how to perform the maneuvers and approach to given complaints.
I got rid of most of my books because I couldn't see the print anymore. I bought a Kindle so I could enlarge the type and read the books, and have them with me when I went to the hospital.But! when I try to read this in Kindle there is not an option (that I can find) to enlarge the font size. (even though the previous book I was reading, and the one I read afterwards, were all in the size font I had previously set!)I could not navigate around the book, nor could I find what I wanted...probably in part because I could not even see the type usually to see what it was I was trying to search through.THEN I find out, after I had purchased 4 kindles, so we would all have them when we went places, that TEXT books only will reproduce on a certain number of kindles. Unlike they say "normal" books. Which I have no idea is the rule for this TEXT book, as I can't even see it on one Kindle! I have a larger Kindle and smaller ones. I tried with the larger Kindle Fire.Cost a ton too.
I used this to help supplement my OCS studying back when I took the test. Now I've used it for PT student interns in the clinic and it has been a good resource for them to use. I like how I'm each body part there is information to help with differential diagnosis and talks about different test clusters.
Best ortho exam text since Hoppenfeld; a good companion to Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy.Just amazing so much useful knowledge so well organized and digestible.Check if your treating physician has this text yet.I am a physician, recently retired.
